THIS PLACE MATTERS: Looking Back, Moving Forward

The Rome Historic Preservation Commission, along with the Historic DeSoto Theatre Foundation, will host “THIS PLACE MATTERS: Looking Back, Moving Forward,” a symposium analyzing the past and future of preservation in Georgia, on Thursday, May 9, 2019.

Expert-led sessions will highlight the factors that shaped preservation efforts in Georgia from the 19th century to today and ask what the future of archeological, architectural, and cultural preservation in the state will look like. Please note, that this will qualify as an option for the required Historic Preservation Commissioner training and the annual training for Downtown/Main Street Board members.
